4. Tiki Tiki Tembo by Arlene Mosel and Blair Lent
Tikki Tikki Tembo was one of my favorites. Adorable illustrations by Blair Lent and fun to read. A book about a boy named Tikki tikki tembo-no sa rembo-chari bari ruchi-pip peri pembo, who has fallen down a well, antics ensue while his brother retrieves help. A recreation of a classic Chinese folktale.
5. Harold and The Purple Crayon by Crockett Johnson
An adorable book about a boy named Harold and his purple crayon. This book is full of adventure and creativity. If you like this book there’s even more adventure by the same author about Harold and his purple crayon.
6. Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak
Of course a list is not complete without the classic Where the Wild Things are. A journey through a boys imagination. Wild creatures and a beautifully illustrated world makes this book a must own.
